Nutritional Analysis Project (Core Assessment): A final written project is required that will address meal planning, nutritional requirements, and special populations. Each section should be created as if it will be given directly to the client and should be clear enough for a client to follow. The Core Assessment is worth 300 points. Section 1: 100 points •Create a general meal plan for using a 1 day example (3 meals and 2 snacks) for a 2000 calorie/day diet. •How would you adjust this diet for someone who is (provide caloric ranges for each category) ?Sedentary ?Low active ?Active ?Very active •Include all food groups/macronutrients according to MyPlate and ensure the person would get all the necessary micronutrients (vitamins and minerals) •Include portion sizes. •Provide a written section with the justifications for why you chose the foods you did (e.g. what nutrients are being addressed in each food) Section 2: 100 points •Create a weight loss meal plan using a 1 day example for a 30 year old female who is 5’2” and weights 160lbs. •Calculate a healthy weight loss goal based on the individuals BMI, BMR, daily calorie intake/output (including exercise, based on your choice) while planning for the individual to lose 2 lbs a week. •Make sure to calculate and include the BMI and BMR (show your calculations) •Include portion sizes •Provide a written section providing your justification for why you chose the foods, portions, etc. •How long will it take this individual to reach their weight loss goal? General Paper Guidelines and Requirements: 100 points •Each section should have a paragraph describing the appropriate nutritional recommendations and should be written in a format that would make it easy for the individual to understand and follow. •Each section should have a table listing the recommendation of all nutrients. •Final Paper should be no shorter than 3 pages (1 page for each section minimum), Times New Roman sized 12 font, double spaced. •No factual errors •No writing errors (e.g. grammar, spelling, punctuation, sentence and paragraph structure)
