He said he had never had any heart problems—felt so healthy, in fact, that he hadn’t been to a doctor in years. He had even recently quit smoking. The nurse cut Mr. Aldredge’s examination short to have him transported to the emergency room for prompt evaluation and treatment of a probable myocardial infarction.
