The racial breakdown of the population is 80.5% White, 10.4% African American, 2.0% American Indian and Alaska Native and less than 1% Hawaiian and other Pacific Islanders, these numbers include 31.5% persons of Hispanic origin who may be of any race. The city’s population has increased by 5.7% since the 2010 census. The city’s demographics by age group are 7% of people under the age of 5, 21.7% under the age of 18 and 10.5% over the age of 65. Sentinel City also has a higher rate of families living below the poverty level than the national average.
